Rather than examine specific sacred rituals, this section focuses on the ceremony of everyday life and illuminates certain practices that help us to know ourselves, to understand our place in our culture and our community, and to always be thankful for the gifts we have been given. Traditional spiritual practices were outlawed by the colonial government but in recent decades communities have recovered these affirming rituals and traditional ceremonies.
